Inspired by my father’s immigration story, I envisioned Bedouin as a restaurant where, instead of the family diners I grew up in, we run a vibrant Egyptian eatery. Through expressive illustration and hand done typography, I explored a brand that is both English and Arabic, American and Egyptian, just like I am! Each illustration used throughout the brand is an element taken from Egyptian culture or history, pasted into the heart of Philadelphia’s Fishtown through murals, menus, and matchbooks.
